For information on banking statistics (# of banking transactions, ABMS, rankings, etc.) please visit Canadian Bankers Association. They provide statistics in both .pdf and .xls format.

PwC publish an annual profile of the Canadian banking industry.

See Mergent Online for an industry report on the North American banking sector.

MarketLine Advantage will have a report on Banks in Canada.

Use the Thomson ONE database to find analyst reports for Canadian banks and on the industry as a whole. Requires Internet Explorer to gain access to the database.

Use Business Monitor International. Choose GEOGRAPHY then choose Commercial Banking and/or Financial Markets

Use the Economist Intelligence Unit database. Look for the Financial Services reports. See also the Country Finance reports for an overview of banks and other financial institutions in a country.

For a survey of Canadian consumers and how they bank use Print Measurement Bureau. Click on the Lifestyles button then click on the Finance category. When viewing the tables click on the blue percentages for the associated demograhics.

Use IBIS World Canada

Use Passport.  Search for "banking" in the top right search box and use the "filter analysis" tool to limit by geography.
